The project and support

Piland is the name of this digital collecting project, presented as PILAND on this website. The project is managed by Samuele Speziale, Italy. For questions about the service, purchase assistance or privacy requests, contact support@joinpiland.com.

What PILAND records

A unique collectible title within the PILAND registry. This does not restrict anyone’s use of mathematical constants and does not promise investment returns.

Collecting rules

One payment, with no renewal fee. The exclusive assignment in PILAND’s registry lasts while the service operates. All 100 million positions in the first corpus are included in the launch catalogue.

What the purchase will include

After payment is verified, the selected position will be assigned to your account, added to your collection and accompanied by a downloadable signed certificate and a record of ownership history. This is a digital service: no physical item is shipped. It uses PILAND’s registry, without a blockchain token or NFT. A sequence purchase groups its individual positions; it does not reserve every occurrence of the same sequence.

Initial catalogue prices

All prices are in EUR and refer to one position. Numbering starts with the integer 3: position 1 is 3, position 2 is 1 and position 3 is 4. These are PILAND’s asking prices, not independent valuations or promises of resale value. Purchases are not open yet.

Special positions 10, 100, 1,000 and subsequent powers of ten cost twice the normal price of their tier. The exact price is shown on each position page. A sequence costs the sum of its individual positions.

Planned marketplace

5% seller commission, minimum €0.50. Resale prices start at €1. Buying and selling are limited to adults. Both private and professional sellers can participate after identification, in supported countries.

Resales will use a fixed price chosen by the seller, from €1. The PILAND commission is deducted from the seller’s proceeds, in addition to the Stripe fees applicable to the seller. After verified payment, the position transfers to the buyer, a new certificate is issued and ownership history is updated. This feature is not open yet and depends on payment-provider support and completion of the applicable requirements. International availability will depend on the countries supported for each service.

Refunds and consumer rights

PILAND does not offer an additional voluntary change-of-mind guarantee on its initial sales. All applicable mandatory withdrawal, refund and conformity rights remain available. For a cancellation, dispute or refund request, email support@joinpiland.com with the order reference and a description of the request. Account access is not required to contact support. Full contractual terms and the applicable procedure will be available before purchases open.

Planned closure

For a planned closure, PILAND will give 90 days’ notice and make certificates and ownership history available for export throughout the notice period. Continued online service or an archive after closure is not guaranteed.

Privacy notice for the website and accounts

Updated 20 September 2026. This notice covers the public catalogue, optional accounts and enquiries sent to support. The data controller for PILAND is Samuele Speziale, Italy, reachable at support@joinpiland.com. Browsing does not require an account. Sign-in is optional; purchases and seller onboarding remain closed.

Data and purposes

To display pages, return search results and protect the site, the hosting and security infrastructure processes technical request data, which may include your IP address, browser information, request time and requested address. Searches are sent to the site and can appear in request addresses and browser history. Do not enter passwords or confidential identifiers in a sequence search. PILAND does not build a collector profile from these searches.

If you email support, your email address, any name you provide and your message are used to manage and answer your enquiry. Contacting support is optional; without a reply address and the necessary information, we may be unable to respond. Technical request data is necessary to deliver the website. No card details or identity documents are requested by the catalogue.

If you choose to sign in, Auth0 and your selected identity provider authenticate you. PILAND stores the identity identifier, email address, display name, profile visibility preference and account/session records needed to provide and protect your account. The account service and database run on Railway. Authentication data is used for account access, security and the features you request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); fraud and abuse prevention also serves the controller’s legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Your email address is not shown in the public catalogue. A collection is public only if you choose that preference. During preparation for launch, any existing test assignments and certificates remain marked as tests and do not represent commercial ownership.

Legal bases

Operating and securing the catalogue and managing general enquiries are based on the controller’s legitimate interests in providing a functioning information service, preventing misuse and responding to people who contact the project (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where an enquiry concerns steps you request before entering a contract, Article 6(1)(b) applies; processing required by law is based on Article 6(1)(c). PILAND does not use catalogue data for advertising or decisions with legal effects made solely by automated processing.

Preferences and cookies

The application saves your language preference in browser local storage under piland-language. If you sign in, essential authentication and security cookies maintain your session; they are needed for the account features you request. It stays on that device until you change it or clear the site’s browser data. PILAND does not add advertising cookies or behavioural analytics. Infrastructure providers may use technical security mechanisms described in their own notices.

Providers and international processing

The catalogue and account service are hosted on Railway, with Cloudflare providing domain and security services. Messages sent to support are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail mailbox managed by the project operator. These providers process the data needed to deliver hosting, security, forwarding and email services. Data may also be disclosed to competent authorities where required by law. It is not published in the catalogue.

The providers operate internationally and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their notices describe the applicable transfer mechanisms, including adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses where relevant, together with their processing and retention practices. You can contact support for information about the safeguards relevant to your request. Provider notices: Cloudflare, Google, Auth0 / Okta, Railway.

Retention

The application does not maintain a database of catalogue visitors or search histories. Technical logs are handled by the infrastructure providers: retention depends on the type of log, troubleshooting and security needs, and applicable legal requirements, as described in their notices. PILAND does not set a single deletion deadline for all provider logs. Your browser may separately retain your browsing history.

Support messages are retained while the enquiry is being handled. After resolution, retention is limited to information needed for related follow-up, an existing dispute or a legal obligation; those needs determine when it can be deleted. You can request deletion at support@joinpiland.com; any applicable exception will be explained in the response.

Account data is retained while your account is maintained. You can export it or request deletion from the Account page or by contacting support. Requests are reviewed by the operator: data needed for a legal obligation, security investigation or dispute may have to be retained. Session expiry and logout end access; they do not by themselves delete your account. Provider backup retention may delay removal from backup copies.

Your rights

Contact support@joinpiland.com to request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, or to request portability where applicable. You can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority or the supervisory authority competent for your circumstances. Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Before you can purchase

The seller’s identity, VAT details, contact channels, purchase and resale terms, consumer rights, privacy notice and supported countries must be available. They are not replaced by this pre-launch explanation.
